News roundup August 9th, 2006
Well let's see what's going on around the world (or at least the United States), shall we? In election news, left-wing whack-job Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney (D-Georgia) has lost her bid for re-election in the Democratic primary. This should come as no surprise to anyone with half a brain, though 41% of the people who voted in her district still voted for her, so what does that tell you about the brainpower down there? And, of course, within minutes of the polls opening, Cynthia was playing the victim, claiming "voting irregularities". Anyone surprised by that? Nah, I didn't think so. Wild Bill will no doubt be upset as this is one less person to make fun of in Washington. :) In Connecticut, Democrat Senator Joe Lieberman has lost his own primary challenge from left-wing, anti-war Ned Lamont...who has been championed by the MoveOn / Daily Kos crowd. The bad news for the Democrats is that now Lieberman will run as an independent in November and likely retain (or win back?) the seat...and one has to wonder what ol' Joe will think of the national party then? Under the category "News To Make Your Head Explode (tm Glenn Beck)", some 11 months after Katrina, some 1,200 families of New Orleans' St. Bernard parish are STILL WAITING FOR THEIR FEMA TRAILER. I mean, come on people. At what point do you tell yourself, "Hey, ya know what? Maybe I SHOULDN'T rely on the government to bail me out here and I should start doing something on my own..." ? Jeez, why are people so stoopid like that? And in the "Holy shiite" column today, 11 Egyptian "students" who entered the United States on student visas have strangely not shown up for classes at the university they were supposed to be attending. Their visas have now been revoked and so they are now here illegally. Getting worried yet? No? Well how about this: A top expert on the Mideast says it is possible Iran could pick Aug. 22, the anniversary of one of Islam's holiest events, for a cataclysm Shiite Muslims believe will forever resolve the battle between "good" and "evil." Oh yeah, THAT makes me feel good. Anybody read a good book lately? How about THE Good Book? Might want to brush up on your Ezekiel, chapters 38 and 39... NOW is your underwear stained? If not, it should be... Finally, news for us veterans. You might THINK this is a recycled headline, but it's not. It's happpened AGAIN. A laptop computer containing personal data on as many as 38,000 veterans has turned up missing. Hey, no problem Uncle Sam. I don't NEED any privacy of my personal data. Just go ahead and flaunt it out there for everyone. Dipshits. |
